Last day of the month!

Can you actually believe it’s the last day of August? Seriously this year has flown by, considering I for one thought it would go really slow.  September as not only is my birthday, it means we are so close to new scents being released. Keep your eyes well and truly peeled so that you don’t miss anything!

This bank holiday I’ve had a little something on that if you purchase between 28th-31st August 2020. Everyone’s name gets added to the prize draw and one customer will win a little something. It ends tonight at midnight and there’s no minimum spend. As long as you pay using SAGE PAY as this is the correct method for every day orders. I’ll draw the winner on Tuesday and make an announcement on my page and the prize will just be added to the winning customers order.

Now i know many of you will be heading back to work after the summer break and many children will be returning to school. Alfie he’s got just over a week left before he returns. I’m looking forward to him going back as i know he’s missed his friends. I think a little bit of routine will be good for him. I will miss him as in the last 5 1/2 months whilst he’s been at home. He adapted to new school life and its been so lovely having him around, but I just want him to be around friends now and enjoy seeing them all.

Over the next coming weeks i’ll have lots to share via my blog, its something now thats become a habit to write a blog weekly and i love seeing comments from customers after they’ve read it. If you do read it and never leave a comment on it, please do as I always reply to everyone who leaves a comment.

I’m going to head off now as its 1.30pm and I’m heading back to my workshop for just another hour, setting up ready for being back at work Tuesday.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend and…….happy melting! https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk

Last break of the summer

Hey, hey, hey!

My last break of the summer I decided to break my last holiday up and split my weeks. I can’t believe where this years gone already and that from next month I’ll be on with Christmas…..yep I’ve said it! 🙈

Over the last 5 months it’s been so lovely seeing so many of you reading my weekly blog. I am going to keep them short and sweet so that it encourages more people to read them. I how busy everyone is and sometimes we just don’t get 10 minutes to read let alone sit down.

I’m hoping each week I’ll be able to share with you what’s new and what’s coming up. I’ve so much to share with you for Christmas. Don’t forget I’ll have my LIWL 9 Day’s Of Christmas Advent Calendar. I will talk about in a few weeks time. My Christmas and Autumn scents, again will share later in September. I’ll be laughing a new gift box, where you’ll be able to select what you’d like inside. Plus you may find a themed box coming up soon too……..all I can say is keep your eyes peeled!

Making sure you’re using the correct wax burner

https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk/product-category/burners/

It’s so important to me as a wax vendor to remind my customers and followers the safety about using the correct type of wax burner to melt my scented wax in or even anyother business who sells scented wax products too. Please take your time to read my blog as there’s some very important information I’m going to share with you.

So as a seller of tea light and electric warmers, it’s up to me as a seller to make sure the burners I buy in are legally tested to melt wax products. Now every type of burner I sell has been tested and approved to use wax products in, now there’s different types of burners you can buy and this is where you need to be very careful if buying from other shops, online or at markets. You’ll see you can purchase wax warmers or oil burners online and in different stores. Now oil burners are for using for aromatherapy oils, they are not suitable for using wax in, if the burner is suitable for both it’ll say in the description wax/oil burner, if it just says oil please do not use wax in these. Wax heats up at a higher temperature than the oils, if that manufacturer has only tested their burners using oils, then it’s not classed safe to use wax in them. You’ll never see me sell just oil burners, if a burner I sell is suitable for both and has been tested for both I’ll state this on my website. I tend to stick to burners that have just been tested for use for wax, it stops the confusion and then my customers know if they buy a burner for me it’s just for wax products only.

Over the last few weeks on Facebook I’ve seen some shocking photos of people in groups (not mine and none of my customers) showing burners that have over heated when using wax in them and it all boils down to they’ve bought oil burners. I don’t want to scare anyone, but I feel it’s for me to educate my customers why I always say wax warmer on my clp products and website. An oil burner has been tested for aromatherapy oils only, you’ll find some burner’s very cheap question why, if it’s small question why, look at the legal labelling that you’ll find on the bottom of all burners. I’d never personally buy a burner that’s cost £1 it’s more than likely not been tested for wax and in some cases you’ll find it’s probably not been tested at all, believe me good quality burners aren’t cheap to buy for either me the supplier and you the customer, but they are affordable.  I’d hate for one of my customers to use the wrong type and if buying one of my burners you know they have been tested for wax products, they are safe, yes they may be a little more expensive, but this is because they’ve been tested correctly and all CE approved.

Also tea light warmers another important thing I have to share with you all is never use a tea lights that burns  for any longer than 4 hours, any longer than this can cause any warmer to over heat, it’s too long and this is why I always state never melt for longer than 4 hours at anyone time. Melting for more than 4 hours will cause the burner to start over heating, in time it can cause hairline cracks and then eventually crack, you honestly don’t want that to happen as it’s dangerous. If you follow my guidelines at all times you’ll always keep safe and use products the correct way. There’s many burners out there that are suitable for wax, you don’t have to buy one of mine, but all I say is do your research make sure it’s a wax warmer and you’ll be fine as long as you always use your warmers correctly. When using tea lights, NEVER stack one tea light on top of another, I’ve seen this before and it’s DANGEROUS it’s too close to the bowl and will cause it to over heat.

If you are in doubt and there’s a burner you’re after purchasing even if it’s some another wax vendors online store,  feel free to message me with a photo and I might be able to advise you. Sometimes I won’t be able to as it’s not what they always look like, but you as a customer are within your rights to ask businesses that are selling these products if they have been tested for wax. Never feel like you can’t ask businesses questions about the products they are selling as you’ve all got the right to ask questions and any business should be more than happy to answer your questions too.

Just before I go always remember when changing the wax from your wax warmer, never use a knife to remove it as you’ll scratch the bowl of the burner and in time this could cause it to break. Never put your burner in the freezer, I can’t believe people do this as again it’s dangerous. The best way to clean your burner is, turn it on for electric or light a tea light and as the bowl starts to warm you’ll be able to remove the wax using kitchen roll it’ll just scoop out if you catch it just as it’s starting to warm. If you’re cleaning it when all the wax is melted just soak up the wax using kitchen roll. Any old wax just wrap and pop in your house hold bin, never pour wax down your drain this will cause your drain to block.

I hope you’ve all taken a little bit more knowledge from this weeks blog, I like to talk about safety often as my priority is to make sure I keep you all safe.

Have a sparkly evening and…….happy melting!

Back to work Tuesday

Good morning!

Tomorrow I’ll be back to work after having a week off. My first job will be to start making some stock, I’ll be making scents like Heavenly, Rhubard & Custard, Cola Cube Fizz, Just Incredible, Filthy Gorgeous, Sleepeeze Range and Just Linen. As I make them I’ll add them to stock but it’ll be done over a week as I’ve lots to catch up on too. Over the last week some of you will have spotted on my Instagram stories a few little offers, I only shared these to Instagram as I’ll switch between the 2 social media platforms whenever I have a little offer on and share in one of my stories. Stories are a great way to connect with hundreds even thousands of people who may never see your feeds. We offered 10%, 15% and then lastly free postage on wax sample boxes with 10 samples in each box.  I have a lot of followers on Instagram and picking which platform I share offers on gives me an insight as to who see’s me and on what platform which helps me massively for when I’m sharing products. I also understand not everyone’s on Instagram who buys from me and this is why sometimes when I do an offer in my stories I’ll just target Facebook rather than Instagram, so it’s always a mix.

This month I’m getting ready for Christmas, I’m currently sampling a new batch of Christmas scents, I’ve been testing most of the year, but decided to try a few others too. My range of Autumn/Winter & Christmas scents will be added to the website from September onwards, Christmas scents will be last and not added until some time in October. I’m also putting together a new gift box range, hopefully launch this September/October.

It’s just a little blog today, short and sweet, but next week I’ll be writing about something really important and I hope many of you pop over and take a read. I’ll remind everyone about it in the day it goes live as I want many to read this one.

Have a beautiful week and……happy melting!

Tips on how to look after your reed diffusers

Reed Diffuser Mist Spray

Today I thought I’d share tips on how to get the best from my reed diffusers. These can last between 4-6 months depending on how you look after them.

So if you follow the following tips, it will help you get the very best from my reed diffusers….

https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk/product/liwl-reed-diffusers/

  • Place away from direct sunlight – placing in direct sunlight, the sunlight will draw the scent from the bottle much quicker.
  • Place away from direct heat – don’t place them over radiators or fires. The heat will draw the scent out much quicker, also it’s not safe to have them over heat sources as they are flammable.
  • Turn your reads at least once every 2 weeks, this helps the reeds stay moist as if they dry out you won’t get the fragrance from them.
  • Change the room you place your reeds in at least once a month. Our noses become use to smells of rooms so if you’ve constantly got your reeds in the same room month after month you’ll find you’ll become nose blind. Changing the room once a month will prevent this, if you do find you can’t smell it before a month then change rooms, our senses of smell are totally different and you may find you need to change rooms more often.
  • If you’ve windows open and your reed diffuser is near by, you won’t smell it as much as the scent will be drawn out through the window.
  • Keep away from children and pets, this is for safety reasons only and not suitable for children to handle and away from pets so they don’t knock them over.
  • Never add water to them or mix with other reed diffuser scents, this should never be done.

Each scent will give off different scent throws so will vary on how strong they are. We have some scents made in diffusers that are more subtle thank others, we always advise when trying a new scent in a reed diffuser you buy it in wax first to make sure you love the scent. A reed diffuser will never give off the same throw as what a wax product will, but our reed diffusers are loved by many and we’ve been told how amazing they really are. I love having them around the house as if I’m not melting my home still smells amazing. Our reed diffusers come in a round bottle that holds approx 120g of liquid and comes with 5 fibre black reeds, these reeds soak up the scent hand hold it really well., they are each 5mm thick and you will receive 5 with each diffuser. We do have an option to buy a refill bottle, in most scents, refills hold approx 100g of liquid. Each diffuser has a luxury clear Little Ideas With Love sticker on the front, to the back theres safety labels and underneath is the CLP and scent name, you can view the CLP label before opening your diffuser and removing the safety cap. When you do remove the safety cap, put the silver lid back on and then place your 5 reeds inside, spreading them out evenly. Sit back and let the fibre reeds start to soak up the fragrance, this for the first time can take up to 24 hours from opening. All our reed diffusers are made to order as your order comes in on the website, making our reeds freshly made. If your scents not showing in stock, simply pop us a message as most times we are able to add more to stock.

Just a little reminder, I’ve taken this week off and will return back to work on Tuesday 11th August, any orders that come in on the website whilst im closed will start to leave in order they came in once I’m back at work. I am at home, but I’m not on my social media as much, but i will reply to messages once I return.

Thank you for taking time to read this weeks blog and I hope you have the most gorgeous week ever!

Love
