Last day of the month!

Can you actually believe it’s the last day of August? Seriously this year has flown by, considering I for one thought it would go really slow.  September as not only is my birthday, it means we are so close to new scents being released. Keep your eyes well and truly peeled so that you don’t miss anything!

This bank holiday I’ve had a little something on that if you purchase between 28th-31st August 2020. Everyone’s name gets added to the prize draw and one customer will win a little something. It ends tonight at midnight and there’s no minimum spend. As long as you pay using SAGE PAY as this is the correct method for every day orders. I’ll draw the winner on Tuesday and make an announcement on my page and the prize will just be added to the winning customers order.

Now i know many of you will be heading back to work after the summer break and many children will be returning to school. Alfie he’s got just over a week left before he returns. I’m looking forward to him going back as i know he’s missed his friends. I think a little bit of routine will be good for him. I will miss him as in the last 5 1/2 months whilst he’s been at home. He adapted to new school life and its been so lovely having him around, but I just want him to be around friends now and enjoy seeing them all.

Over the next coming weeks i’ll have lots to share via my blog, its something now thats become a habit to write a blog weekly and i love seeing comments from customers after they’ve read it. If you do read it and never leave a comment on it, please do as I always reply to everyone who leaves a comment.

I’m going to head off now as its 1.30pm and I’m heading back to my workshop for just another hour, setting up ready for being back at work Tuesday.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend and…….happy melting! https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk

Last break of the summer

Hey, hey, hey!

My last break of the summer I decided to break my last holiday up and split my weeks. I can’t believe where this years gone already and that from next month I’ll be on with Christmas…..yep I’ve said it! 🙈

Over the last 5 months it’s been so lovely seeing so many of you reading my weekly blog. I am going to keep them short and sweet so that it encourages more people to read them. I how busy everyone is and sometimes we just don’t get 10 minutes to read let alone sit down.

I’m hoping each week I’ll be able to share with you what’s new and what’s coming up. I’ve so much to share with you for Christmas. Don’t forget I’ll have my LIWL 9 Day’s Of Christmas Advent Calendar. I will talk about in a few weeks time. My Christmas and Autumn scents, again will share later in September. I’ll be laughing a new gift box, where you’ll be able to select what you’d like inside. Plus you may find a themed box coming up soon too……..all I can say is keep your eyes peeled!

Making sure you’re using the correct wax burner

https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk/product-category/burners/

It’s so important to me as a wax vendor to remind my customers and followers the safety about using the correct type of wax burner to melt my scented wax in or even anyother business who sells scented wax products too. Please take your time to read my blog as there’s some very important information I’m going to share with you.

So as a seller of tea light and electric warmers, it’s up to me as a seller to make sure the burners I buy in are legally tested to melt wax products. Now every type of burner I sell has been tested and approved to use wax products in, now there’s different types of burners you can buy and this is where you need to be very careful if buying from other shops, online or at markets. You’ll see you can purchase wax warmers or oil burners online and in different stores. Now oil burners are for using for aromatherapy oils, they are not suitable for using wax in, if the burner is suitable for both it’ll say in the description wax/oil burner, if it just says oil please do not use wax in these. Wax heats up at a higher temperature than the oils, if that manufacturer has only tested their burners using oils, then it’s not classed safe to use wax in them. You’ll never see me sell just oil burners, if a burner I sell is suitable for both and has been tested for both I’ll state this on my website. I tend to stick to burners that have just been tested for use for wax, it stops the confusion and then my customers know if they buy a burner for me it’s just for wax products only.

Over the last few weeks on Facebook I’ve seen some shocking photos of people in groups (not mine and none of my customers) showing burners that have over heated when using wax in them and it all boils down to they’ve bought oil burners. I don’t want to scare anyone, but I feel it’s for me to educate my customers why I always say wax warmer on my clp products and website. An oil burner has been tested for aromatherapy oils only, you’ll find some burner’s very cheap question why, if it’s small question why, look at the legal labelling that you’ll find on the bottom of all burners. I’d never personally buy a burner that’s cost £1 it’s more than likely not been tested for wax and in some cases you’ll find it’s probably not been tested at all, believe me good quality burners aren’t cheap to buy for either me the supplier and you the customer, but they are affordable.  I’d hate for one of my customers to use the wrong type and if buying one of my burners you know they have been tested for wax products, they are safe, yes they may be a little more expensive, but this is because they’ve been tested correctly and all CE approved.

Also tea light warmers another important thing I have to share with you all is never use a tea lights that burns  for any longer than 4 hours, any longer than this can cause any warmer to over heat, it’s too long and this is why I always state never melt for longer than 4 hours at anyone time. Melting for more than 4 hours will cause the burner to start over heating, in time it can cause hairline cracks and then eventually crack, you honestly don’t want that to happen as it’s dangerous. If you follow my guidelines at all times you’ll always keep safe and use products the correct way. There’s many burners out there that are suitable for wax, you don’t have to buy one of mine, but all I say is do your research make sure it’s a wax warmer and you’ll be fine as long as you always use your warmers correctly. When using tea lights, NEVER stack one tea light on top of another, I’ve seen this before and it’s DANGEROUS it’s too close to the bowl and will cause it to over heat.

If you are in doubt and there’s a burner you’re after purchasing even if it’s some another wax vendors online store,  feel free to message me with a photo and I might be able to advise you. Sometimes I won’t be able to as it’s not what they always look like, but you as a customer are within your rights to ask businesses that are selling these products if they have been tested for wax. Never feel like you can’t ask businesses questions about the products they are selling as you’ve all got the right to ask questions and any business should be more than happy to answer your questions too.

Just before I go always remember when changing the wax from your wax warmer, never use a knife to remove it as you’ll scratch the bowl of the burner and in time this could cause it to break. Never put your burner in the freezer, I can’t believe people do this as again it’s dangerous. The best way to clean your burner is, turn it on for electric or light a tea light and as the bowl starts to warm you’ll be able to remove the wax using kitchen roll it’ll just scoop out if you catch it just as it’s starting to warm. If you’re cleaning it when all the wax is melted just soak up the wax using kitchen roll. Any old wax just wrap and pop in your house hold bin, never pour wax down your drain this will cause your drain to block.

I hope you’ve all taken a little bit more knowledge from this weeks blog, I like to talk about safety often as my priority is to make sure I keep you all safe.

Have a sparkly evening and…….happy melting!

Back to work Tuesday

Good morning!

Tomorrow I’ll be back to work after having a week off. My first job will be to start making some stock, I’ll be making scents like Heavenly, Rhubard & Custard, Cola Cube Fizz, Just Incredible, Filthy Gorgeous, Sleepeeze Range and Just Linen. As I make them I’ll add them to stock but it’ll be done over a week as I’ve lots to catch up on too. Over the last week some of you will have spotted on my Instagram stories a few little offers, I only shared these to Instagram as I’ll switch between the 2 social media platforms whenever I have a little offer on and share in one of my stories. Stories are a great way to connect with hundreds even thousands of people who may never see your feeds. We offered 10%, 15% and then lastly free postage on wax sample boxes with 10 samples in each box.  I have a lot of followers on Instagram and picking which platform I share offers on gives me an insight as to who see’s me and on what platform which helps me massively for when I’m sharing products. I also understand not everyone’s on Instagram who buys from me and this is why sometimes when I do an offer in my stories I’ll just target Facebook rather than Instagram, so it’s always a mix.

This month I’m getting ready for Christmas, I’m currently sampling a new batch of Christmas scents, I’ve been testing most of the year, but decided to try a few others too. My range of Autumn/Winter & Christmas scents will be added to the website from September onwards, Christmas scents will be last and not added until some time in October. I’m also putting together a new gift box range, hopefully launch this September/October.

It’s just a little blog today, short and sweet, but next week I’ll be writing about something really important and I hope many of you pop over and take a read. I’ll remind everyone about it in the day it goes live as I want many to read this one.

Have a beautiful week and……happy melting!

Tips on how to look after your reed diffusers

Reed Diffuser Mist Spray

Today I thought I’d share tips on how to get the best from my reed diffusers. These can last between 4-6 months depending on how you look after them.

So if you follow the following tips, it will help you get the very best from my reed diffusers….

https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk/product/liwl-reed-diffusers/

  • Place away from direct sunlight – placing in direct sunlight, the sunlight will draw the scent from the bottle much quicker.
  • Place away from direct heat – don’t place them over radiators or fires. The heat will draw the scent out much quicker, also it’s not safe to have them over heat sources as they are flammable.
  • Turn your reads at least once every 2 weeks, this helps the reeds stay moist as if they dry out you won’t get the fragrance from them.
  • Change the room you place your reeds in at least once a month. Our noses become use to smells of rooms so if you’ve constantly got your reeds in the same room month after month you’ll find you’ll become nose blind. Changing the room once a month will prevent this, if you do find you can’t smell it before a month then change rooms, our senses of smell are totally different and you may find you need to change rooms more often.
  • If you’ve windows open and your reed diffuser is near by, you won’t smell it as much as the scent will be drawn out through the window.
  • Keep away from children and pets, this is for safety reasons only and not suitable for children to handle and away from pets so they don’t knock them over.
  • Never add water to them or mix with other reed diffuser scents, this should never be done.

Each scent will give off different scent throws so will vary on how strong they are. We have some scents made in diffusers that are more subtle thank others, we always advise when trying a new scent in a reed diffuser you buy it in wax first to make sure you love the scent. A reed diffuser will never give off the same throw as what a wax product will, but our reed diffusers are loved by many and we’ve been told how amazing they really are. I love having them around the house as if I’m not melting my home still smells amazing. Our reed diffusers come in a round bottle that holds approx 120g of liquid and comes with 5 fibre black reeds, these reeds soak up the scent hand hold it really well., they are each 5mm thick and you will receive 5 with each diffuser. We do have an option to buy a refill bottle, in most scents, refills hold approx 100g of liquid. Each diffuser has a luxury clear Little Ideas With Love sticker on the front, to the back theres safety labels and underneath is the CLP and scent name, you can view the CLP label before opening your diffuser and removing the safety cap. When you do remove the safety cap, put the silver lid back on and then place your 5 reeds inside, spreading them out evenly. Sit back and let the fibre reeds start to soak up the fragrance, this for the first time can take up to 24 hours from opening. All our reed diffusers are made to order as your order comes in on the website, making our reeds freshly made. If your scents not showing in stock, simply pop us a message as most times we are able to add more to stock.

Just a little reminder, I’ve taken this week off and will return back to work on Tuesday 11th August, any orders that come in on the website whilst im closed will start to leave in order they came in once I’m back at work. I am at home, but I’m not on my social media as much, but i will reply to messages once I return.

Thank you for taking time to read this weeks blog and I hope you have the most gorgeous week ever!

Weekend Website Top Up

Yep its Saturday, but I wanted to just see who might spot my little weekend blog I’ve decided to do out of the blue……it could happen more often and I feel it’s a great way to connect with many without using my social media platforms.

It’s the weekend and the websites had a little top up! I’ve added some crumbs to the website and one is an exclusive past subscription scent, I wonder who will spot it? I’ve also added a few other scents to the website in both brittles and pods, I’ll hopefully manage to top up again later in the week, but it will depend on how I get on work wise and also getting the scents ready for the August subscription box too. Now if you spot something on the website and you purchased on Friday and you’d like to add to your order, you can do this by messaging my business page with your order number and what you’d like to add to it and I will pick this up Monday morning. I have held back a few wax crumbs from the subscription boxes just in case and as always only one fragrance per customer in the same scent per order, this is to make it fair as I know many love these scents. You might need to checkout to see if you can see in the brittle section a recently new scent that I had only released in wax crumbs.

I’ll be using my blog to post more about my LIWL Crumb Drop and other website tops up’s too, I think it’s a great way to advertise and reach out to many more. I‘ll always still do my Monday evening blog, but from time to time I’ll drop in another blog sometime during the week, especially if I’ve something to share with you all. I‘m also trying to be good and not spend time using social media on weekends as I do find it very hard to switch off from work and can often get carried away looking through my instagram and facebook business pages. This way I can decide if to share to my social media without having to go on it as I can do it direct from my website. I have left my phones upstairs today and iPad to stop temptation and I don’t have my main computer logged into any of my social medias so again I don’t get distracted.

Be sure to carry on interacting within my facebook group, my amazing admin team are around to approve your posts and help with any questions you all may have. Any messages sent to my in boxes will be dealt with Monday once I’m back at work and also if you’ve sent emails these will be dealt with Monday too.

Enjoy your weekend and…….happy melting!

About my scent list

Good evening!

Ok it’s getting scary now how quickly these weeks are flying by and can you believe we’re in July already? This month would have been the end of Alfie’s year 7 and I sometimes feel sad he’s had to miss so much of his first year in high school, but I’m grateful we picked one of the best schools around us as during this pandemic they’ve shown so much support it’s really helped us massively.

So this week I’m going to share with you some scents which are coming to an end or possibly going on holiday, if they go on holiday it can be between 1-10 months, it all depends as I’m currently changing my list to fit seasons and also having limited editions that will only last until the scent sells out. Now to keep up to date with scents ending and going on holiday, you’ll need to keep your eyes on my blog as I’ll share most of it here. I’ve many customers who aren’t on any of my social media platforms and my blog is accessible for everyone so this is where I’ll share lots of information. All blogs I write you can always look back on, you’re more than welcome to comment on each blog if you wish too. There’s been a little Incentive for this  to encourage customers and followers to interact with me via my blog.

ENDING

Lavender
Sherbet Lemon
Frankincense  & Black Cherry
No More Dirty Laundry – replaced with Heavenly
Mango & Starfruit – limited edition
Candyfloss – limited edition
Rose
Flower Bomb
The One
Sandalwood
Hide Her In The Wardrobe

GOING ON HOLIDAY

Pride
Lets Get Flirty
Hide Him In The Wardrobe
Pineapple & Mango
AvoLimeBath

Now the ones that are ending, I may from time to time bring them back as an exclusive which means I’ll make stock using all the fragrance oil and once sold then it’ll end. The 2 new ones Mango & Starfruit and Candy Floss these were jut limited editions and I’ve one more batch to make then once that’s sold it will end. I keep my scent list moving as it’s good for change and also gives customers other scents to try. Now if you love trying scents then my subscription box is amazing to receive every month. I’ve got a waiting list for this, but if you’re in my Fb group you can add your name to it, or if you’re on my Instagram you can DM me and I’ll add your name.

As the seasons  change, my list will change. Now during spring/summer I’ll have a good range of fruity scents, but then as we start to go into autumn many of them will go, but I’ll always have some from each category on my list. Normally 2 from each if not more, but from time to time you may just see one choice, but it won’t be for long it’ll be just why I’m deciding what scents are coming next.

Now some of the above scents that are ending, some will be made up for the very last time, a few have already ended. So whenever I post to my social media if it’s the last batch I will always state this. You’ll need to keep your eyes on my Instagram and Facebook business page as this is where it will be shared, it won’t be shared in my group. Then every season I’ll update on my blog scents that are ending and scents going on holiday, I’ll also announce on here too if it’s coming back from holiday.

I just also want to mention that in August I’m taking a 2 week holiday. This will be more towards the start, but I’ll confirm dates closer to the time as before I take my 2 weeks off I’ll get monthly subscription boxes out. I will post dates all over my social media, but I’ll keep reminding everyone as the website will remain open but whilst I’m closed no orders will leave. I’ll use the time running up to it to run my stock down so that the websites not stocked up loads whilst I’m closed and then once I return I’ll then start to stock it up again.

I hope you all have an amazing evening and enjoyed reading this weeks blog.

Love

Rachel……x

All about scents that go on holiday

Yes….you read my title correctly, some of my scents actually gone on holiday as they too need a little rest from time to time. ?

So you may be wondering why I actually do put scents on holiday, this is to keep my scent list rotated and changed. Now if I constantly did the same scents month after month, year after year, you’d get bored right? Well I know I would as change is good and updating the scent list and keeping it pretty seasonal too is a perfect way to do it.

So this year was the start of me putting scents on holiday and some scents I’ve completely ended as it’s time for change. Now there’s reasons why I might put some on holiday and end some. Holiday ones tend to be seasonal so for example, Snow Fairies has gone on holiday as I find this more of a autumn/winter scent as it reminds me of Christmas. Now I know it doesn’t smell of Christmas but it’s got the name snow in it so I’ve classed it as an autumn/winter scent, so you’ll see this come back towards the end of September, beginning of October up until Christmas and then it’ll go on holiday again. Things like fruity scents, you’ll see many of these go on holiday after the summer, I’ll keep one or 2 on my scent list as we all love a bit of fruity scents and I’ll always make sure I have at least one scent from each scent category.

Now my biggest challenge is to get my perfumes & aftershaves list down…..it’s so hard as there’s so many I love and I want to keep them all, but I do need to let some go on holiday, but I hate picking sometimes. Sometimes I find it easy to pick, but this category is one of my most favourites and many scents in this one are scents I’ve had specially made up in the lab which are bespoke to me. I’m not saying you can’t buy them else where, but when I have a bespoke scent made up in the lab they don’t use that same formula for anyone else as I’ve paid to have this made for me. I usually send in the scent tones for what I want and then they work their magic and then I work mine and make it into amazing scented wax.

Now many of my customers ask if I have a list of what’s gone on holiday or what’s ended, unfortunately I don’t put a list together, I often mention in my group if a scents going on holiday, but I don’t tend to say when a scents coming to an end unless I’ve lots of it that I want to sell off. I often get messages when customers know it’s going on holiday saying it’s their favourite scent and I understand you all have favourite scents as I do too and I sometimes end the ones I love, but having a change is good and if you were to constantly buy the same scents every time eventually you’d get bored of it or become nose blind. Change is good and I’ve found since putting scents on holiday it’s meant customers have tried other scents they may have not been interested in before and then fallen in love with them.

Now as you all know I’m a one man….well woman band! All waxes are handmade by just me, same as my reed diffusers, room sprays, pillow mists, car sprays and pet bed sprays. Now if I had 100 scents on my list there’s no way I’d be able to keep up making them all and to keep stock levels on the website, it’s hard enough now and I think I’ve got around 30 scents on my list at the moment which is still a little too high. I find if there’s too much choice customers find it much harder pick what to buy and as they say……less is more. Now I’m not one of these big massive wax companies, we know the ones the ones that have been around for donkeys years who have massive factories who mass produce and have probably 1000’s of staff, nothing had poured as they have big industrial machines to do it all for them, now they can keep up with having 100’s of scents on their list as they are mass produced, but when you’re a small business like myself who actually hand pours every single scent that you melt then it’s not possible. I’d rather have a smaller scent list and take longer to stock my shelves than have a mass produced line of machine poured wax or wax that’s not made with any love whatsoever. You know every single scent is poured by me and poured with love and to me that’s much better than having a to big a range of scents to pick from.

If you want to know when scents are going on holiday be sure to be apart of my Little Melts With Love was group, as I often announce in their when they are going on holiday and sometimes when I post on my business page I may say it’s the last chance to grab this scent before it goes on holiday. Now I don’t always say how long the holidays for, sometimes it might just be 6 weeks, 6 months or even a year it all depends on what scent it is.

So I hope this explains a little bit more about scents coming and going and that if your favourites gone off the website why not try something that’s out of your comfort zone as you might just be pleasantly surprised!

I’ll see you next Monday, same time, same place!

Have a sparkly evening and……happy melting! ❤️?

All about safety

Good evening!

Over the course of last week I’ve seen many posts which made me a little scared, not necessarily in my group, but on social media in general. So I thought it would be good for me to talk about safety when using any wax product, room spray, reeds diffusers etc.

So I’m a safety girl and I’m forever talking about safety in my wax group. Many might wonder why, but there’s lots of things to consider especially when you’re lighting a naked flame in your home. So many of my customers know that I always say never melt for more than 4 hours at anyone time, this is with the same burner. Why might you ask? Because your burner will heat up and once it’s been on for 4 hours, any melting using the same warmer after this amount of time means the warmer could over heat and cause it to crack. Now I’m not saying it will happen, but there’s the safety side of it and us as wax vendors are advised when purchasing burners the safety side of this and it’s up to use to make sure our customers are educated as to why there’s safety measurements. Now as you’re aware on the market you’ll find that there’s different tea lights, some maybe 2 hours and some maybe as long as 8 hours. I would NEVER advise anyone use an 8 hour tea light when melting, these types of tea lights are for tea light holders only and not for wax burners. Using a tea light that burns for so long is dangerous as your burner will get too hot and could cause it to crack or you’ll get tiny hairline cracks in it and over time it will break. Now I always state on my labelling never melt for more than 4 hours at anyone time, this is the reason why. Now my safety wording on my labels is my wording, it’s not anyone else’s, nor has it been copied it’s what I’ve created from my knowledge over the years of being a wax vendor. Now the CLP side which is the bit about the allergens this is from the scent suppliers I use and if others use the same as me you’ll find that if they have the same scents as me theirs would be the same, but say my Lavender Coconut Milk scent, if you look at the CLP info on that and then compared with another vendor who has that name of scent on their website and compared their CLP info to mine, you’ll most like;y find it’s different….why? Because my Lavender Coconut Milk is bespoken made and only available to me, but yet you can buy this fragrance oil off the shelf with other suppliers, but it’s made differently to mine so the 2 labels would never be identical. This also changes making a reed diffuser, the CLP will change slightly as the percentage I use changes to what I use making wax, so again you’ll see a few difference on my label. Many of my scents on my list are bespoke and many of the scent names belong to me too, which I come up with most of my own, some I don’t as some just need to say what it is, like pineapple & mango or lavender coconut milk or mryyh and Tonka……some just need to be called what the main scent is.

I also get asked many times about how to change your wax, on the website we’ve added a section on How To Use Your Wax……this has been written for me, this content belongs to me and should never be taken from my website and used by another business, you may wonder why I’m saying this, this is because when you write something and post it to your website, it belongs to you, you’ve most probably paid to have some content written on your website and the good thing is you as a business are protected by copyright, along with your images too. I’ve recently been made a where of a new business that’s stolen my wording, but that’s another blog as I’ve to go down the right channels about this, but I’ll talk about it more another time.

Anyway where were we? Oh yes safety of how to change your wax. So the best way I find to clean your burner out is to light your tea light, let the bowl where your wax melts get slightly warm, this takes seconds and then carefully scoop out the wax using kitchen roll. If you catch it just at the right time you’ll be able to scoopy it out in one go. I then gently wipe around the bowl just to remove any excess wax before placing a new scent in. Please DO NOT use a knife to remove wax, this will damage your burner, I see this happen lots of times and I can instantly tell they’ve used a knife……I’m good at spotting this. In time if you use a knife your are scratching the bowl, then the heat from the tea light weakens where the scratches are, eventually causing your burner to crack and break. Another dangerous way is I’ve seen people putting their warmers in the freezer……..NO this is DANGEROUS putting it in a cold freezer then taking it out in to room temperature can cause it to break, wax warmers are not freezer safe so please don’t do this even if you see others doing it, it’s so dangerous. Now electric warmers, sometimes you can just pop the wax out without switching it on, it can depend on which electric warner you have as some you’ll find you’ll need to let it melt the wax and then soak it up using kitchen roll or cotton wool. Please never pour wax down your sink, it’s dangerous and also some scents are toxic to aquatics and if everyone did this, it would eventually kill our aquatics, you’ll see sometimes on some CLP labels it states……toxic to aquatics and this is what it means if the wax was ever put into our sewerage then in time it would be so dangerous.

Now another thing is, as a wax vendor I have to know everything about what I make and sell, I’ve got to understand what all my labelling means and all the paperwork that comes with each scent too. I’ve got to know how to record everything correctly and also make my CLP labels legal too, there’s laws we have to adhere too, which my customers know I always do, but I often remind my customers in my own words about the safety of melting wax. At the end of the day many of you are lighting a tea light, so straight away there’s a naked flame, would you ever leave the house with a naked flame lit? I very much doubt you would, so never leave a room with a naked flame lit either. If I want wax melting in other rooms I know I’m not going to be in I’ll always use one of my electric warmers as these are safe to leave unattended, I have times set on mine so they switch off after 4 hours so that way if I did forget I have them on at least I know after 4 hours they’ll switch off. I am a safety girl and I’ll always remind everyone about safety.

edit as reminded by one of my customers…….. DO NOT clean your warmer out using chemical cleaners, if you want to clean your tea light burner then use hot soapy water and make sure it’s dry before you use it.

If you’re someone who only uses electric warmers, then I still always say be sure to keep them placed safely. Don’t have wires hanging down that can be caught by children or pets. Make sure you change your bulbs regularly as in time the bulb becomes weaker and won’t heat up your wax as hot. Check leads regular, just to make sure that if you have pets who like to chew that they haven’t been having a nibble on your lead.

Another point is, if you’re buying a tea light warmer to use for wax, be sure to buy a wax warmer and not an oil burner……they are different as an oil warmer has only been tested for use of oils, and a wax warmer has been tested using wax. Wax gets much hotter than oil so oil burners are not suitable for wax products. All my burners are tested and are wax approved by my suppliers.

Now whenever I sell a reed diffuser, room spray, car spray, pillow mist etc, I’ll display safety info on my CLP regarding these too. Everything I sell need to be kept away from children and pets, they are a product for children to be holding, but I know many of my customers tell me how their children love to smell their orders when they arrive and this is fine, but please make sure you supervise your children at all times.

Now if you have a question about anything regarding my products, please just ask, all comments on my blog I always reply to on a Monday evening and then I’ll catch up with anymore I’ve missed later in the week. Please do use this blog to ask me anything and I’ll happily answer.

Remember, keep safe, use my products the correct away by reading all my safety info I display on them and if you’re ever in doubt just ask.

In the next few weeks I’ll be talking about intellectual property, copyright and trademark. This is very important and I’ll explain about how you can’t just take info or pictures  from someone’s website without their consent, even google images are protected too, so be sure to watch out for that blog that will be in a couple of weeks time.

Have a beautiful evening and thank you for taking time to read my Monday blog.

Some Monday’s just start off differently!

Little Ideas with Love

So here we are again, it’s time for my Monday blog. I thought I’d share with you my day, sometimes it’s nice to share what’s happened and also share with everyone that my days sometimes go wrong just like yours might sometimes.

So I was up super early as I knew I had a busy day ahead as I wanted to get out all of my subscription boxes, there’s a lot each month over 80! So I got up and as I got out of bed my mobile phone fell off the bed onto my foot….ouch it bloody hurt and I’ve a great big bruise to prove it. After hobbling downstairs to make breakfast for me and Alfie I then realised Richard had taken my car to work to give it a run and had forgotten I’d got to take one of the dogs to the dog groomers ?? men……they are so hard work sometimes lol. Good job she’s local who I use, but even heading out it takes 40 minutes out of my day to take her and get back with walking and then another 40 mins to collect her and come back and when you’ve over 80 subscription boxes to get packed up and shipping labels to add before 2pm it’s not good. Luckily I was able to ring Annie and she came to collect her for me, we did social distancing just as my dog groomer also did when she took Bailey from Annie, but I was stuck and I needed help. For those of you who are unsure who Annie is, she’s my friend but also works for me in the workshop, but is currently furloughed and hopefully due back next month. Honestly if she hadn’t have collected Bailey there’s no way I’d have been able to start on my subscription boxes. It was strange seeing her as were both huggers, and it was strange not being able to hug her. I’ve missed hugging people as I always hug everyone, I’ve not really seen people during lockdown as I’ve only left the house twice since March, but it’s hard knowing you can’t hug anyone and I know some people find it easy, but when you’re a big hugger it hurts that you can’t, but hey I’m sure one day we’ll be able to hug again and if not I’m coming up with an invention to protect people when they want to hug someone lol.

So anyway where was I? Oh yes, so after my foot injury I then set Alfie up with his school work and I went in the workshop, I was in there before 8am knowing I’d lots to do. I made up all the boxes first and then part close them so that when I put each thank you note in, I just slide it in the top and then add the postage label. I do the postage labels in the house, went to switch the little postage label printer on, nothing happened! Looked at the back no lead plugged in and no where to be seen, quickly rang Richard and he thought it may have come out of the printer when he was sorting the CCTV wires out, after a rummage  behind my work desk I found it. Right time to get on, nope my label printer wanted to play funny buggers and then the Royal Mail back office was playing up, it seemed to be going on a go slow. So this process took me until 11.45am to finish, nearly 3 hours, it’s the longest it’s ever taken, but yes I’ve more subscriptions to do, but all the messing about made it take longer. I’d not had a drink all morning, so I quickly made one and a sandwich for both me and Alfie as I knew once I went back in the workshop I had till 2pm to get all these postage labels on, notes added and all boxes taped up and sealed. Normally both me and Annie do this together, but until shes back at work it’s just me. Every order I double check the address is correct, all address have 2 checks, some customers often change their shipping address, even more since lockdown as many haven’t been going out to work and have worked from home, so I need to make sure everyone’s address matches what’s on their order. I’m pleased to say I did it with 15 minutes spare, I worked my little socks off as I wanted to get everyones out so they can start to enjoy their boxes this week. Baring in mind I’ve done all this with a bruised foot that has given me trouble all morning, checking in on Alfie every 20 minutes and then helping him if he was stuck with everything. I sometimes wonder how I do it, but I sometimes don’t even know myself lol. Let’s just say this evening I’m relaxing as I won’t lie I’m tired and my head hurts as it’s been a stressful day with so many different things not going right, but hey……..tomorrows a new day!

In between all of the above I was also chasing a parcel that had been lost from my vinyl supplier, which actually turned up, it had been sat at DPD warehouse since the 1st June, they decided my address didn’t exist, which means it was a driver who doesn’t know the area and instead of ringing my number which is always displayed on the label and asking me to direct them in, they say my address is wrong, it’s normally the blue DPD hub who have trouble as I find they have many stand in drivers who never know the area, but it left me with a missing order and a backlog of T-shirt orders piling up with my new sparkly glitter text on them. Good news is I’ve got it now so this week I’ll finish those orders off. I have changed dispatch times for clothing, it’s now 3-4 weeks, yes it seems a long time, but if I don’t have your size in stock it needs ordering in, I only order every 7-10 days, then the T-shirts have to arrive with me and then I’ve to print them up. The printing is done here by myself, and as you’re already aware I’m working alone so it takes me longer to do each job as well as run my social media and reply to customers too. I honestly can’t wait to get back to normal and have Annie back, it’s hard doing all the jobs she normally does and it’s lonely on my own without her. I’ve always appreciated Annie and everything she does, but I appreciate her even more now as she’s a massive part of my team and the jobs she does she does them amazingly and she takes a lot of pressure off me leaving me to concentrate on my customers orders and making stock.

So I’m going to wrap this blog up now, but just remember………we all have days that go wrong, we might scream, shout or cry, but that’s fine as nobodies perfect and it’s good to release upset if things don’t go the way you’re hoping they had, but remember……tomorrow’s a new day and tomorrow you’ll shine brighter than you did today.

Im going to relax this evening and have an early night, ready for a new day tomorrow.

Thank you for taking time to read this weeks blog, keep smiling and remember you’re all amazing.

Stay safe!

love
