Back to work Tuesday

Good morning!

Tomorrow I’ll be back to work after having a week off. My first job will be to start making some stock, I’ll be making scents like Heavenly, Rhubard & Custard, Cola Cube Fizz, Just Incredible, Filthy Gorgeous, Sleepeeze Range and Just Linen. As I make them I’ll add them to stock but it’ll be done over a week as I’ve lots to catch up on too. Over the last week some of you will have spotted on my Instagram stories a few little offers, I only shared these to Instagram as I’ll switch between the 2 social media platforms whenever I have a little offer on and share in one of my stories. Stories are a great way to connect with hundreds even thousands of people who may never see your feeds. We offered 10%, 15% and then lastly free postage on wax sample boxes with 10 samples in each box.  I have a lot of followers on Instagram and picking which platform I share offers on gives me an insight as to who see’s me and on what platform which helps me massively for when I’m sharing products. I also understand not everyone’s on Instagram who buys from me and this is why sometimes when I do an offer in my stories I’ll just target Facebook rather than Instagram, so it’s always a mix.

This month I’m getting ready for Christmas, I’m currently sampling a new batch of Christmas scents, I’ve been testing most of the year, but decided to try a few others too. My range of Autumn/Winter & Christmas scents will be added to the website from September onwards, Christmas scents will be last and not added until some time in October. I’m also putting together a new gift box range, hopefully launch this September/October.

It’s just a little blog today, short and sweet, but next week I’ll be writing about something really important and I hope many of you pop over and take a read. I’ll remind everyone about it in the day it goes live as I want many to read this one.

Have a beautiful week and……happy melting!

Tips on how to look after your reed diffusers

Reed Diffuser Mist Spray

Today I thought I’d share tips on how to get the best from my reed diffusers. These can last between 4-6 months depending on how you look after them.

So if you follow the following tips, it will help you get the very best from my reed diffusers….

https://www.littleideaswithlove.co.uk/product/liwl-reed-diffusers/

  • Place away from direct sunlight – placing in direct sunlight, the sunlight will draw the scent from the bottle much quicker.
  • Place away from direct heat – don’t place them over radiators or fires. The heat will draw the scent out much quicker, also it’s not safe to have them over heat sources as they are flammable.
  • Turn your reads at least once every 2 weeks, this helps the reeds stay moist as if they dry out you won’t get the fragrance from them.
  • Change the room you place your reeds in at least once a month. Our noses become use to smells of rooms so if you’ve constantly got your reeds in the same room month after month you’ll find you’ll become nose blind. Changing the room once a month will prevent this, if you do find you can’t smell it before a month then change rooms, our senses of smell are totally different and you may find you need to change rooms more often.
  • If you’ve windows open and your reed diffuser is near by, you won’t smell it as much as the scent will be drawn out through the window.
  • Keep away from children and pets, this is for safety reasons only and not suitable for children to handle and away from pets so they don’t knock them over.
  • Never add water to them or mix with other reed diffuser scents, this should never be done.

Each scent will give off different scent throws so will vary on how strong they are. We have some scents made in diffusers that are more subtle thank others, we always advise when trying a new scent in a reed diffuser you buy it in wax first to make sure you love the scent. A reed diffuser will never give off the same throw as what a wax product will, but our reed diffusers are loved by many and we’ve been told how amazing they really are. I love having them around the house as if I’m not melting my home still smells amazing. Our reed diffusers come in a round bottle that holds approx 120g of liquid and comes with 5 fibre black reeds, these reeds soak up the scent hand hold it really well., they are each 5mm thick and you will receive 5 with each diffuser. We do have an option to buy a refill bottle, in most scents, refills hold approx 100g of liquid. Each diffuser has a luxury clear Little Ideas With Love sticker on the front, to the back theres safety labels and underneath is the CLP and scent name, you can view the CLP label before opening your diffuser and removing the safety cap. When you do remove the safety cap, put the silver lid back on and then place your 5 reeds inside, spreading them out evenly. Sit back and let the fibre reeds start to soak up the fragrance, this for the first time can take up to 24 hours from opening. All our reed diffusers are made to order as your order comes in on the website, making our reeds freshly made. If your scents not showing in stock, simply pop us a message as most times we are able to add more to stock.

Just a little reminder, I’ve taken this week off and will return back to work on Tuesday 11th August, any orders that come in on the website whilst im closed will start to leave in order they came in once I’m back at work. I am at home, but I’m not on my social media as much, but i will reply to messages once I return.

Thank you for taking time to read this weeks blog and I hope you have the most gorgeous week ever!

Love

Ask Me A Question

ASK ME A QUESTION……

My blogs are a way for me to communicate with you all, a place I can share whats happening and if I’ve anything new to tell you. Just like my extra blog I wrote on Saturday……missed that one didn’t you? lol Well guess what? I’ll be throwing in an extra blog from time to time as I want to get people use to checking my blogs daily, to see whats happening and if I’ve shared anything new. I’ve had a social media break this weekend, one that was very much needed, but I had something to share with you all so I decided to do it via my blog and only one person spotted it, but one more than when I first wrote it, I’m still happy as I got one comment on it, now that may change now I’ve mentioned this, but I just wanted to show everyone that you just never know when I may just do a quick blog thats not on a Monday. Now last Monday I didn’t advertise on my business pages that I’d posted my blog as I’ll no longer do this as I feel now I’ve created a pattern one that many will remember automatically that Monday is my main blog day. Now whenever I post my Monday blog it’ll now be at any time throughout the day and as always one of my lovely admin team members Paula will keep track of who’s commenting. So anyway enough of that, here’s more about todays blog……..

Today I thought I’d write a different kind of blog, one where you can ask me a question and one I can hopefully answer. So if you have a question for me then comment on my blog with your question and I shall do my very best to answer it, if its a long answer I may pick to answer it on an upcoming Monday blog, but I shall still let you know by replying so you can watch out for it in weeks to come. I do get asked lots of things, but with you asking me on here, it means thousands of people if not millions…….wishful thinking but hey maybe one day, can actually read them too. The power of social media and getting your story across and questions answered is massive, but blogging even bigger, more can see this as people aren’t as restricted as like they are with social media, not everyone has social media so blogging is a way to reach out to many more people. Blogging also helps your website massively, so the more I reach out to my customers to keep frequently checking my blogs the more it’ll help me be seen.

I often read many blogs on others websites, it gives me more of a personal insight to who and what that business/person is about. I like the personal touch of reading what they want to share with everyone, things they may not share on social media. Blogging’s becoming more and more popular and you don’t have to have a business to blog, anyone can blog. I for one will be blogging more especially when I have social media breaks, so if you don’t see me post on social media then maybe check now and then to see if I’ve done a blog. I wont be blogging every day I have off social media, only really if I have something to share with you all. Now I’m taking a little break from work from the 1st August, I’m not going anywhere I just need 2 weeks off so I can refill my cup…..we can’t pour from an empty cup! I have added a banner to state my closing times, the website will remain open whilst I’m closed, but orders will only leave on my return and in the order the arrived on the website. Once I reopen on the 17th August that will be classed as our first working day and orders will take up to 10 working days to be despatched, it will all depend on how busy the websites been whilst I’m off, but please don’t feel worried about ordering as I still need to keep my business ticking over whilst I’m off. I will be posting to social media, but mainly through Instagram which will go direct to my business page. Also I’ll put a message up on my business page inbox to let people know if they message me i’ll only be checking messages once a week and to use my group to ask my admin team any questions you may have. I will be working one day and that will be to get my monthly subscription boxes out which will be around 7th August possibly the 6th I haven’t decided yet, but you’ll know if you’re a subscriber as you’ll receive your despatch note. I will decide this week as I’ll have to notify Royal Mail of my closing dates as I always cancel my collections when taking a holiday.

I’ll be back to check what questions you’ve asked me later this evening and I hope you all have an amazing week. Don’t forget, from time to time check my blog just in case I write an extra one to share something I’ve added to the website.

Lots of love

Happy Monday!

This week is the start of the school summer holidays for us, but I know this years going to be so different to how it normally is. As a family we had hoped to go away this summer, but we’d only just talked about it in January and between the 3 of us were coming up with places we wanted to visit, but hey no one knew what this year was going to bring and there’s plenty time for a family holiday another year. So i had penciled in holidays for August and I’ve decided to stick with them as I’ve had no time off this year and I need a little rest. So from Wednesday 4th August to Thursday 20th August I shall lock my workshop door and have some well deserved time off. I plan to use this 2 weeks break to spend time with Alfie, maybe a spot of gardening…..if the weathers good for us, might have a clear out and fingers crossed maybe my eldest might be able to head on over and visit us. It doesn’t matter were staying home, we’re still going to make some memories as that’s what’s important in life. To be honest if i ever go away I’m always happy to get back home as I’m a real home bird, I like going away, but I’m always happy to get home and back in to my everyday routine. I’ll be using a few of the days I’m closed to catch up on paperwork, make a few changes to the website and to get ready for Christmas……yes I said Christmas! lol Its crazy to think how quickly this year has gone, we’ve all lost so much of it with everything that’s been going on in the world and the changes we’ve all had to adapt too, but change is good and its certainly made me realise a lot of things and changes I want to make too. I remember January and how long it seemed and that many people were also saying it was such a long and slow month, then February flew by and then March came and I remember when Alfie said when he came home from school ‘mum school could shut for a bit whilst we go in lockdown‘ I kinda thought to myself, that wont happen and then Boris made the announcement and lockdown started. That first week i honestly thought lockdown would drag and it would be awful, but we as a family adapted to it really well and I was lucky as i already worked from home so nothing really changed for me apart from having to home school Alfie. I was so grateful that my business was still able to carry on and that my customers still supported me and it also brought new customers to me too. I do honestly believe that many people will now support smaller businesses, those who handmade products, those who are in networking marketing as i personally feel you get more of a friendly service. I also feel that smaller businesses appreciate customers so much more and show far more gratitude to their customers. I personally are so grateful to every single person who buys from me, to those who comment on my daily posts, to those who share my posts, everyone who takes time to do these regardless of if you buy or not, everyone of you are grateful too.

This year I had many plans, but some I’ve decided to hold off on until maybe next year…….well if I feel it’s the right time, but if not I’ll wait until the year after. I’ve also got lots of good things coming up too which I’m excited about. I have taken the decision not to do any events I had planned this year, a few have already been canceled, but one they’ve not decided yet, but i have decided I wont be doing it. I‘ve to think about many things when it comes to events and I don’t feel this year I could have my stall set up in a way that would keep people away from each other and also I wouldn’t be able to allow people to pick up my products to smell them. Maybe 2021 I will be back doing a couple of events, but for now I wont be at any of the ones I did last year. I may decide to have my own, but if I do I will write about this closer to the time and it will be done more on an appointment basis and customers wouldn’t be able to pick products up so I need to really think about this before I decide if I’ll have my own.

Local collections…….. These will remain unavailable throughout the summer, once Alfie‘s gone back to school I may open collection slots again, but only a couple of times a month. At the moment I can’t open them up as I take each day as it comes and with Alfie being home I can’t plan collection days as we never know what kind of day we are going to have and with it being the holidays we may wake up one morning and think right were off exploring for the day. I promise you they will come back, but for now if you’re local you can’t collect. Once they reopen it’ll be the same as always that you will need to stick to the day and time you’ve selected. I will be making a few changes to this when I reopen collection, so please make sure you read all details when I do. I will make an announcement on my Instagram and Facebook page when its back on.

Ways to find out what’s been posted

Good evening!

I hope you are all well and enjoyed your weekend. This evening I want to talk to you all about how you can find out what’s happening via using my social media or looking through past blogs.

Ive got a few different social media platforms I use, mainly Instagram and Facebook. On Facebook I have my business page and then 2 different Facebook groups. Now i tend  to post from Instagram straight onto my business page on Facebook and then I’ll use my 2 Facebook groups for different things. My main group is my Little Melts With Love https://www.facebook.com/groups/850232061701698/?ref=share
inside this group you’ll find one of the nicest community of people ever, this has a mixture of customers and people who haven’t bought from me but love to see what’s going on inside of the group and some often join in with the daily chat. I often go live in this group, sometimes I’ll make wax for everyone to see or I may have something I want to talk about to those who are in the group. The group is a great place to be able to use the search bar to look for questions others may have asked in the past. I have an announcement list where I pin things that are important to the top of the group so members can find the important stuff easily. I have many people who may message me with the same question, but most times it’ll have already been asked within the group, so all you need to do is pop your question in the search part at the top and if it’s been asked before everyone who’s asked it their post will show up. I do also have one of the best admin teams ever, who if you tag in the group they’ll be more than happy to answer your questions and if they are unable to then they’ll point you in the right direction. This group is used for customers to chat about what they are melting, sharing photos of deliveries and also asking what everyone’s favourites are, it’s my little melt family and it’s a lovely one at that.

Then there’s my VIP subscription members group, this group is for those who have an active subscription https://www.facebook.com/groups/896339447450635/?ref=share

now I only ever talk about subscription boxes in this group and share with subscribers any loyalty codes that they’ve earned, discount codes I may have for them off past subscription scents and I may share the odd picture when I’m making up subscription boxes for the following month. Again you can search inside the group to see if anyone’s asked the question you maybe wanting to ask. I have announcements pinned to the top just like the main group and also my amazing admin team are always around to help where they can.

The main group is really an amazing group to be apart of, to join you must answer all questions. It can take a few weeks to sometimes be approved as we don’t manage that side of it daily and we do check out all accounts as unfortunately there’s many fake accounts out there and we want to protect all our members who are in our group. We also have a strict rule that we don’t allow any other wax businesses within the group and anyone who’s not answered all the questions.  We’ve nothing to hide, but this is my community I’ve built up and my safe place for my customers and those who love to see what others are buying. We often go through the group and remove inactive accounts or accounts that look like they are no longer in use. Our groups small, but it’s filled with so much love.

If for any reason you’re unable to find an answer to your question within the groups and you’ve also asked my admin team by tagging them, then please message my business page. I aim to reply to messages within 48 hours, longer if they  are sent on Friday’s as I don’t reply to messages on a weekend. I don’t often check my page on a weekend as I like to spend time with my family so it’s my time to switch off from work. I’m the same on evenings too that messages don’t get answered. I do receive a lot so it does take time to get through them and I always start with the oldest first. This is why it’s good to use the groups to find many answers as most of the time someone will be able to help you. If you have a question regarding your order, please message along with your order number and question, I’m unable to look into any orders without an order number so please make sure you supply this when messaging. I don’t reply to any order messages to my personal profile, anything to do with your order must either be sent to my Facebook business page or my Instagram business account.

Don’t forget that my blogs another great place to check as each week I’m talking about many different things and will hopefully answer many popular questions you may all have.

Right I’m off to relax for the evening. I hope you all have a beautiful evening and…….happy melting! ❤️🌈

Some Monday’s just start off differently!

Little Ideas with Love

So here we are again, it’s time for my Monday blog. I thought I’d share with you my day, sometimes it’s nice to share what’s happened and also share with everyone that my days sometimes go wrong just like yours might sometimes.

So I was up super early as I knew I had a busy day ahead as I wanted to get out all of my subscription boxes, there’s a lot each month over 80! So I got up and as I got out of bed my mobile phone fell off the bed onto my foot….ouch it bloody hurt and I’ve a great big bruise to prove it. After hobbling downstairs to make breakfast for me and Alfie I then realised Richard had taken my car to work to give it a run and had forgotten I’d got to take one of the dogs to the dog groomers ?? men……they are so hard work sometimes lol. Good job she’s local who I use, but even heading out it takes 40 minutes out of my day to take her and get back with walking and then another 40 mins to collect her and come back and when you’ve over 80 subscription boxes to get packed up and shipping labels to add before 2pm it’s not good. Luckily I was able to ring Annie and she came to collect her for me, we did social distancing just as my dog groomer also did when she took Bailey from Annie, but I was stuck and I needed help. For those of you who are unsure who Annie is, she’s my friend but also works for me in the workshop, but is currently furloughed and hopefully due back next month. Honestly if she hadn’t have collected Bailey there’s no way I’d have been able to start on my subscription boxes. It was strange seeing her as were both huggers, and it was strange not being able to hug her. I’ve missed hugging people as I always hug everyone, I’ve not really seen people during lockdown as I’ve only left the house twice since March, but it’s hard knowing you can’t hug anyone and I know some people find it easy, but when you’re a big hugger it hurts that you can’t, but hey I’m sure one day we’ll be able to hug again and if not I’m coming up with an invention to protect people when they want to hug someone lol.

So anyway where was I? Oh yes, so after my foot injury I then set Alfie up with his school work and I went in the workshop, I was in there before 8am knowing I’d lots to do. I made up all the boxes first and then part close them so that when I put each thank you note in, I just slide it in the top and then add the postage label. I do the postage labels in the house, went to switch the little postage label printer on, nothing happened! Looked at the back no lead plugged in and no where to be seen, quickly rang Richard and he thought it may have come out of the printer when he was sorting the CCTV wires out, after a rummage  behind my work desk I found it. Right time to get on, nope my label printer wanted to play funny buggers and then the Royal Mail back office was playing up, it seemed to be going on a go slow. So this process took me until 11.45am to finish, nearly 3 hours, it’s the longest it’s ever taken, but yes I’ve more subscriptions to do, but all the messing about made it take longer. I’d not had a drink all morning, so I quickly made one and a sandwich for both me and Alfie as I knew once I went back in the workshop I had till 2pm to get all these postage labels on, notes added and all boxes taped up and sealed. Normally both me and Annie do this together, but until shes back at work it’s just me. Every order I double check the address is correct, all address have 2 checks, some customers often change their shipping address, even more since lockdown as many haven’t been going out to work and have worked from home, so I need to make sure everyone’s address matches what’s on their order. I’m pleased to say I did it with 15 minutes spare, I worked my little socks off as I wanted to get everyones out so they can start to enjoy their boxes this week. Baring in mind I’ve done all this with a bruised foot that has given me trouble all morning, checking in on Alfie every 20 minutes and then helping him if he was stuck with everything. I sometimes wonder how I do it, but I sometimes don’t even know myself lol. Let’s just say this evening I’m relaxing as I won’t lie I’m tired and my head hurts as it’s been a stressful day with so many different things not going right, but hey……..tomorrows a new day!

In between all of the above I was also chasing a parcel that had been lost from my vinyl supplier, which actually turned up, it had been sat at DPD warehouse since the 1st June, they decided my address didn’t exist, which means it was a driver who doesn’t know the area and instead of ringing my number which is always displayed on the label and asking me to direct them in, they say my address is wrong, it’s normally the blue DPD hub who have trouble as I find they have many stand in drivers who never know the area, but it left me with a missing order and a backlog of T-shirt orders piling up with my new sparkly glitter text on them. Good news is I’ve got it now so this week I’ll finish those orders off. I have changed dispatch times for clothing, it’s now 3-4 weeks, yes it seems a long time, but if I don’t have your size in stock it needs ordering in, I only order every 7-10 days, then the T-shirts have to arrive with me and then I’ve to print them up. The printing is done here by myself, and as you’re already aware I’m working alone so it takes me longer to do each job as well as run my social media and reply to customers too. I honestly can’t wait to get back to normal and have Annie back, it’s hard doing all the jobs she normally does and it’s lonely on my own without her. I’ve always appreciated Annie and everything she does, but I appreciate her even more now as she’s a massive part of my team and the jobs she does she does them amazingly and she takes a lot of pressure off me leaving me to concentrate on my customers orders and making stock.

So I’m going to wrap this blog up now, but just remember………we all have days that go wrong, we might scream, shout or cry, but that’s fine as nobodies perfect and it’s good to release upset if things don’t go the way you’re hoping they had, but remember……tomorrow’s a new day and tomorrow you’ll shine brighter than you did today.

Im going to relax this evening and have an early night, ready for a new day tomorrow.

Thank you for taking time to read this weeks blog, keep smiling and remember you’re all amazing.

Stay safe!

love
