Last break of the summer

Hey, hey, hey!

My last break of the summer I decided to break my last holiday up and split my weeks. I can’t believe where this years gone already and that from next month I’ll be on with Christmas…..yep I’ve said it! 🙈

Over the last 5 months it’s been so lovely seeing so many of you reading my weekly blog. I am going to keep them short and sweet so that it encourages more people to read them. I how busy everyone is and sometimes we just don’t get 10 minutes to read let alone sit down.

I’m hoping each week I’ll be able to share with you what’s new and what’s coming up. I’ve so much to share with you for Christmas. Don’t forget I’ll have my LIWL 9 Day’s Of Christmas Advent Calendar. I will talk about in a few weeks time. My Christmas and Autumn scents, again will share later in September. I’ll be laughing a new gift box, where you’ll be able to select what you’d like inside. Plus you may find a themed box coming up soon too……..all I can say is keep your eyes peeled!

All about scents that go on holiday

Yes….you read my title correctly, some of my scents actually gone on holiday as they too need a little rest from time to time. ?

So you may be wondering why I actually do put scents on holiday, this is to keep my scent list rotated and changed. Now if I constantly did the same scents month after month, year after year, you’d get bored right? Well I know I would as change is good and updating the scent list and keeping it pretty seasonal too is a perfect way to do it.

So this year was the start of me putting scents on holiday and some scents I’ve completely ended as it’s time for change. Now there’s reasons why I might put some on holiday and end some. Holiday ones tend to be seasonal so for example, Snow Fairies has gone on holiday as I find this more of a autumn/winter scent as it reminds me of Christmas. Now I know it doesn’t smell of Christmas but it’s got the name snow in it so I’ve classed it as an autumn/winter scent, so you’ll see this come back towards the end of September, beginning of October up until Christmas and then it’ll go on holiday again. Things like fruity scents, you’ll see many of these go on holiday after the summer, I’ll keep one or 2 on my scent list as we all love a bit of fruity scents and I’ll always make sure I have at least one scent from each scent category.

Now my biggest challenge is to get my perfumes & aftershaves list down…..it’s so hard as there’s so many I love and I want to keep them all, but I do need to let some go on holiday, but I hate picking sometimes. Sometimes I find it easy to pick, but this category is one of my most favourites and many scents in this one are scents I’ve had specially made up in the lab which are bespoke to me. I’m not saying you can’t buy them else where, but when I have a bespoke scent made up in the lab they don’t use that same formula for anyone else as I’ve paid to have this made for me. I usually send in the scent tones for what I want and then they work their magic and then I work mine and make it into amazing scented wax.

Now many of my customers ask if I have a list of what’s gone on holiday or what’s ended, unfortunately I don’t put a list together, I often mention in my group if a scents going on holiday, but I don’t tend to say when a scents coming to an end unless I’ve lots of it that I want to sell off. I often get messages when customers know it’s going on holiday saying it’s their favourite scent and I understand you all have favourite scents as I do too and I sometimes end the ones I love, but having a change is good and if you were to constantly buy the same scents every time eventually you’d get bored of it or become nose blind. Change is good and I’ve found since putting scents on holiday it’s meant customers have tried other scents they may have not been interested in before and then fallen in love with them.

Now as you all know I’m a one man….well woman band! All waxes are handmade by just me, same as my reed diffusers, room sprays, pillow mists, car sprays and pet bed sprays. Now if I had 100 scents on my list there’s no way I’d be able to keep up making them all and to keep stock levels on the website, it’s hard enough now and I think I’ve got around 30 scents on my list at the moment which is still a little too high. I find if there’s too much choice customers find it much harder pick what to buy and as they say……less is more. Now I’m not one of these big massive wax companies, we know the ones the ones that have been around for donkeys years who have massive factories who mass produce and have probably 1000’s of staff, nothing had poured as they have big industrial machines to do it all for them, now they can keep up with having 100’s of scents on their list as they are mass produced, but when you’re a small business like myself who actually hand pours every single scent that you melt then it’s not possible. I’d rather have a smaller scent list and take longer to stock my shelves than have a mass produced line of machine poured wax or wax that’s not made with any love whatsoever. You know every single scent is poured by me and poured with love and to me that’s much better than having a to big a range of scents to pick from.

If you want to know when scents are going on holiday be sure to be apart of my Little Melts With Love was group, as I often announce in their when they are going on holiday and sometimes when I post on my business page I may say it’s the last chance to grab this scent before it goes on holiday. Now I don’t always say how long the holidays for, sometimes it might just be 6 weeks, 6 months or even a year it all depends on what scent it is.

So I hope this explains a little bit more about scents coming and going and that if your favourites gone off the website why not try something that’s out of your comfort zone as you might just be pleasantly surprised!

I’ll see you next Monday, same time, same place!

Have a sparkly evening and……happy melting! ❤️?

Hey, hey, hey!

Hey, hey, hey! My famous 3 words I often use and many no that when they hear these words it’s most likely me popping into your newsfeeds live. So this weeks blog I’m just going to share what I was up to last week.

It was a very wet week, but I didn’t let that dampen my sparkle, as I always say, it’s not rain it’s glitter falling from the sky! I like to turn most things into a positive if I can, it makes you feel better don’t you agree?

So last weeks was filled with so many things. First my monthly subscription slot payments were taken and it was also lovely to see some new customers sign up too……..don’t forget if you’ve not joined the VIP subscription Facebook group and you’ve got a subscription then click the link as I share sneaky peeps and sometimes have a giveaway and my subscribers share what scents they loved the most and I also share which scents make it to my list before I share with anyone else

https://www.facebook.com/groups/896339447450635/?ref=share

Once subscribers payments have cleared its then all about printing all their orders off, finalising my numbers and making a start on getting the wax made for these, this has actually started today, I did switch a scent from this months box for another as it’s one I couldn’t hold off on as it smells just amazing…….well they all do to be honest.

I also started getting ready to launch a new side of my business my branded clothing range……yes you heard right i now have my own clothing range that I make up all the artwork, cut it and then print it using a heat press. All clothing I offer is printed using quotes I love or I’ve altered to make them my own and of course my trademarked heart is added to each one too. I’ve been testing these since last year, making sure I perfected ow I printed them so I was happy before I launched, believe me at the start I was like……what have I done? ? but it was just a few silly mistakes I made, but hey, that how you learn right? In between all this getting ready to launch I was still making wax and also getting customers orders out too. I have a nice little system going now which means my turn around much quicker and more organised. I did say to myself at the start of this year I wanted more organisation in my life to make my working day flow much easier and I’ve cracked it already. You’d think after 5 years in business I’d already be organised, but no I wasn’t as organised as I thought I was and a few little changes has made a massive difference.

Last week some of you may have seen I set up a new Instagram account to, this was so I could show off all my clothing orders and hopefully reach out to many new customers, as not everyone melts wax so I felt another account was a must and boy has it paid off! I created my account and at first called it LIWL Branded Clothing and it jut didn’t sit right with me, I felt it felt boring and not very inviting so I had a look at it and thought what am I trying to do? I’m trying to add a bit of sparkle to everyone’s life so that’s what I named it LIWL Sparkle. Now some of you may think, how do we no what she’s selling? Good point! Well here’s why I did it…………so you see an account in your feed, it says LIWL Branded Clothing and some instantly think I don’t want clothing, but then you see an account called LIWL Sparkle and you wonder what it’s about so you click on it and then think, oh I love this, I love how she’s put her quotes in her own range and then people engage more and start to comment and then make a purchase. Once they see who I am and what my business is about they are more likely to want to come back to visit my account. It’s not always about saying what your business is, I mean look at my Little Ideas With Love name…….now look at how many customers buy from me and my name doesn’t say what I do it only tells them it’s full of love and they remember me. You’ve always got to think outside the box and carefully pick the right name as a name can change everything. Since changing my clothing range name it’s changed many things and all for the better. I don’t want my new account to be all about selling I want people to enjoy reading what I’ll share, a place I can share quotes daily, a place I can hopefully make someone smile if they see me in their feed. Why not follow me if you aren’t already?  https://instagram.com/liwl_sparkle?igshid=motoayzeyqf9 you can also follow me on my main account too.

My working week is Monday to Friday, I try and stick to these times as I have a family and home to look after and even us business owners need a little break. I don’t really have set hours, as when you work for yourself you’ve got all your social media to run, stock to order, stock to make, orders to pack and then there’s the accounts and many other things too, but I am very strict with myself and don’t reply to messages outside my ‘normal’ working hours which I lock my workshop door between 4pm-5pm depending on what day it is, I aim to reply to messages during work hours, sometimes it may take me a few days to get through them, but what I love the most is that you can ask questions in my Facebook group and either my admin team or my customers can probably answer them.

Right it’s 18.30pm and I’m rambling now and I’ve the table to clear from tea and then the kitchen to clean, then I’ve washing to do, my accounts and I think I’ll leave the ironing till tomorrow…….I ironed yesterday so I’m not sure where my new ironing piles come from ?‍♀️ Lol.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my blog tonight, a bit different than normal, but sometimes I think it’s good to share with you something I’ve been doing and what’s new or what’s coming up. If there’s something you’d like to see me blog about please comment and let me no as I’d like to give you something you love to read and why not let you guys decide that.

I hope you have an amazing sparkly evening and……..happy melting!

‘’love

Scoopable Wax

scoopable sherbet lemon

We are really pleased to share with you all our very new product Scoopable Wax.

Just over a month ago i sent out some samples to customers for them to try my new product and the feedback that came back was amazing, so i just knew i needed to add it to the website. Each pot is made with coconut oil and the process of making it is so much different to my other wax products. It needs to cure for a lot longer, so this means i shall take preorders on the website for certain quantities until i get full stock of it all. I’ve added sherbet Lemon and Blue Lagoon to the website and also stated that it won’t be sent out until Tuesday 14th June. I sold out within hours off adding the last batch to the website and i think its going to become very popular. I will be adding more fragrances in time and will have around 5 to pick from, but i want to pick a few different fragrances for these.

All details are on the website and you can find them under the Little Melt section, we will add a drop down menu for these so they are easier to find…….I should say Mr Melt will once i ask him lol.

We hope that your all enjoying our products and feel free to leave feedback at any time as we love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great day and……..happy melting!

You’ve all been waiting for me to release my monthly wax box surprise and I’m pleased to announce it’s now live on the website.

Each month there’ll be a different theme and in each box there’ll be a limited edition wax tart that wont ever make it to my scent list. The boxes will contain just slightly over £10 worth of wax products and each month will be different. If i ever release any new fragrances these will be added to the boxes and you’ll be the first to try these before adding them to my list. Boxes will contain voucher codes that can be used against products off my website excluding wax boxes.

April wax box is my first one that’s to be released and the theme is SPRING!

Please note that the wax boxes will only be sent out to you between the 1st-7th of each following month. So wax boxes purchased this month in March will be sent out to you all in April all at the same time. Once they’ve been sent and i know they’ve started to arrive I will reveal the contents. I’m so excited about this and i hope you are too. Boxes must be ordered separately to your usual orders due to be holding these until release date.
